BLOG 10-FOLKORE STORY

Maria Labo is from the province of Capiz.
Maria Labo had a happy family she had a kind
and loving husband and one son. Maria Labo decided to work abroad in England for the
sake of her family. She had a good employer, who treated her well, but she did
not know that the employer was a vampire. As a maid , Maria will have to
prepare half-cooked liver for her employer to eat. After months of working for
him, Maria began to feel sick. She did not know that she had ingested some
blood from her vampire employer. Due to her unknown illness, Maria decided to
return home to the Philippines, to live with her family. The vampire agreed.
Maria’s husband was a police officer. One
day, after her husband returned home from work, Maria told her husband that she
had already prepared dinner. The husband of Maria sat down to the table and
asked Maria, “Where is our son?“. Maria
replied, “Our son is right there!“. The husband did not know what she meant. He
was unaware that the meat he ate was in fact their son! He opens the
refrigerator and was shocked to see the head of their son in the refrigerator.
Maria’s husband was so angry, he picked up a big knife and slashed the face of
Maria. Maria had big scar on her face, which is why she was called ”Maria
Labo”.
From that day on, Maria would stalk or hunt
in many different locations within the Philippines, but her husband continued
to hunt for Maria because he wanted to kill her. Whenever Maria was known to be
in any place within the Philippines, all or the people tried to find and kill
her, to save their own children. From those days till the present, the Filipino
people gave Maria the nickname of the “Aswang”, meaning Queen of the Vampires.
BLOG 7- CHILHOOD MEMORIES
Why is recounting one's childhood memories important? Childhood plays an important part in the development of an individual and how they grow as people. It is supposed to be a time of enjoyment, playfulness and innocence, but most of all, it's a time of exploration, to discover how and where our footsteps on the trail of growth will lead us. While everyone will have memories as varied and diverse as stars in the universe, I feel it is a valuable and personal source of liberation to share some of mine that have marked important signposts on the map of my life journey. Because childhood memories form the foundation for a person's life and upbringing and will have a strong impact on who one is today, it can be helpful and therapeutic to dig through one's own past to explore and remember that which has shaped us in our early years.
When I was 4 years old, me and my mom were on the way back
to Sandakan from Kota Kinabalu (KK) by bus. Suddenly my stomach ache and I
wanted to poop, but I was afraid and shy to tell my mom, so I refused to tell
her about it.
I tried t hold it back but failed. The worst thing is I just
continued to poop in my pant as I realized that everybody in the bus was
asleep.
After I finished pooping I acted like I’ve done nothing. On
the time I felt really ashamed and afraid to tell my mom as I know she will be
very mad at me.
A few minutes after that, people inside the bus started to
smell something including my mom. Suddenly she asked me if I was the one who
pooped, but I said no even though I knew that my mom realized that it was me
who pooped.
Suddenly the bus stopped and the bus driver yelled “what is
this smell? does anyone poop in their pants?”
everybody keep quiet with their hands on their nose while looking on us.
On that time, I knew that my mom was really angry with me
and she pinched me as she was irritated and ashamed.
Thanks to God, we were almost arrived at our home at that
time. A few minutes later we arrived home safely. My mom scolded and punished
me to wash all my dirty clothes. So I wash every piece of it while crying.
BLOG 5- WATER POLLUTION
Water pollution is the contamination of water bodies. Water pollution occurs when pollutants are discharged directly or indirectly into water bodies without adequate treatment to remove harmful compounds. Water pollution is the contamination of water so that it becomes unfit for usage. In almost all cases the effect is damaging not only to individual species and populations, but also to the natural biological comments. The water pollution is effect by effects of run-off pollution. That means the rain picks up dirt and silt and carries it into the water. If the dirt and silt settle in the water body, then these sediments prevent sunlight from reaching aquatic plants. Mostly water pollutants are eventually carried by river into oceans. So that we must always care about our environments. To overcome this problem is we must prevent to prevent water pollution is to include eco-friendly household products such as low-phosphate detergents and other toiletries, improving housekeeping, turning off the water tap when not in use, disposing the household wastes in proper sites far away from the water sources Last but not the least, planting more trees can also prevent water pollution by reducing soil erosion and water runoff. Educating people about this problem is an important approach to reduce water contamination.
